1918 diary of J. Reah Hollinger (1895-1896), documenting his military service in World War I. Born in Lancaster, PA, Hollinger was a graduate of Franklin and Marshall Academy (1913) and Franklin and Marshall College (1917). After graduating from F&M, Hollinger enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard and later became a member of the 111th Ambulance Company (103rd Sanitary Train, 28th Infantry Division) under the command of Captain Charles P. Stahr (F&M 1897). An annotated transcription of the diary was created by Hackman Summer Scholar Emily Hawk.
